It wasn't until I turned on the game today that I realized how much I missed footbal season. Sitting here watching the Patriots tromp all over the NY Jets (21 - 7 in the 3rd as I type this)....OH Wait!! it's 27-7....I am reminded of how much I love football.

Day of Firsts

Thursday was RJ's first day of First Grade and the first time he was going to be away from home all day for school. He has been so apprehensive about this all summer. Luckily we were able to go to the school last week to see his classroom and meet his teacher. While there he found out that his friend who has been in his class every year for the past 3 years will be in his class again. That definitely made things better. So of course I had to grab a few images!! And for those wondering, I didn't cry. That day. I did however cry the night before as I was making lunch for him to take the very first time. :-)

Here's Maddy... being Maddy

Happy, Happy, Happy!!!

Earlier in the month I exclaimed to all how big of a month August is in my household. I wasn't kidding. Last week alone, we celebrated my father-in-law's 60th birthday, my mother-in-law's birthday (40?!<-- me looking for brownie points!!), my 7 year wedding anniversary with my wonderful husband, and last, but most certainly not least, is my uncle's birthday. Now, I was not near him to celebrate the last one, but it's always in my heart (and super easy to remember since we got married on his birthday!)

So I want to publicly say Happy Birthday to my father-in-law, my mother-in-law, and my uncle! I wish you many many more happy ones to come!!!! And to my husband, I am so glad we were actually able to spend the ENTIRE day together for our anniversary. Truly a special occasion. I love you!!!

So on to the images...in order to fully celebrate, we rented a house on Gun Rock Beach in Hull, MA for the week - well, Wednesday through Sunday, but close enough. It was really great. We were literally right on the ocean, as you can see. What you can't see is that high tide brought the water up to the back steps for us. It was amazing.

This was the view off the porch over to Nantasket Beach (at night):

The waves crashed into the rocks right below the porch. These rocks actually form the base of the foundation of the house we were in. It was so cool. The kids loved climbing all over the rocks - moreso than being in the ocean!

And Maddy posing like a goof, as always!

I just thought this was really nice looking. As we walked along the street, Ron was carrying Maddy and the sun was setting right over their shoulder. I just love how they are silhouetted with the orange sun.

Happy Anniversary Dawn & Matt!!!

It is hard to believe a year has gone by so quickly! It seems like only yesterday we were all watching as Dawn & Matt got married. I just wanted to take this time to say Happy Anniversary and I wish you many many more!!

Thank you so much for letting me be such a big part of your day. Here is a slideshow I put together for them to commemorate.

Brittany & Brian

Tonight I had the pleasure of doing an e-session (engagement session) with Brittany and Brian, who are getting married in September.

It was so hot! In my car on the way over, the temperature read 98. With the 50% humidity, I'm sure it felt a lot worse. But it was still a great session. We met at Brian's parents house and took the first few images:

Here they are with the angel...

And the swing...

Aren't they just so cute?!

After we had finished up there, we went over to Norfolk Power Equipment, a tractor store owned and operated by Brian's parents. Of course we had to get a few poses on the tractor!

These were just a few of my favorites. To view the whole slideshow (no music), click here.

They were such good sports considering the heat. I had a lot of fun and can't wait to join them for their wedding! Thanks guys!

August/New Website Special!!!

In honor of a great month - August - and the launch of my new website, I'm offering out a great special to all brides who sign a contract with me in the month of August: 20% off all my products and services.

Why is August so great, you ask? Well, it is summer here in New England and August is typically the hottest and sunniest of the summer months - it really doesn't get much better than that.

Not to mention, a certain person's birthday is only a couple days away, although I may swear off having any more after this year. :-) Lastly, but MOST certainly not least, my wedding anniversary is also in August. So you see, it is a joyful month all around!

So in the interest of sharing such great joy, I believe it is only fitting to offer this special. But hurry, you must sign a contract with me before the end of August this year to take advantage of this special. I still have a couple of 2007 dates left, if any bride is still without a photographer for 2007; and I am not quite full for 2008, either.

If you know someone getting married who might be interested, please pass this along.
Thanks, and joyful August to all!!

(I have an exciting e-session planned for Monday, so I will share some images of that next week!)

It's Finally DONE!!!

Hi everyone!

So sorry I've been away for so long. I really did not realize how much time and effort I was going to put into the new website, but I feel that it was worth it. It is now live and I am so very excited. When you have a moment or two, please take a look at it: Jenifer Lyn Photography.

If you've found your way directly to my blog, you will see that has changed, too, to reflect the new look and logo. I would love to know what you think, honestly! Each one of you reading this has an opinion that I value greatly.

While all of this was going on, of course life did not stop, so I will find myself trying to catch you all up on the events you've missed out on.

But, of course, if you've at all payed attention to the Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows countdown in the right column, you'll notice that it has officially reached 0!!! Therefore, I will not be doing much of anything except reading all weekend.

Last, and most certainly not least, I want to say a great big thank you to all who helped me through this process. You can rest easy that you most likely will not be recieving e-mails or IM's saying, "What about this?" or "Do you like this color?" "Refresh your screen - what about now?" You have all be such a HUGE help and I love you all for that.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!
